Mars Red 2006 Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG sedan automatic For Sale.

Up for sale is my 2006 C55 in Mars Red, which very, very few were brought to the USA that year. The previous owner did research and told me he discovered the number was less than a dozen. I absolutely love this car, but other projects await. I bought it on a whim earlier this year after selling a race car, then went through it to make sure it would be as reliable as possible to perform flawlessly during the insane hot summers here in AZ. It didn’t disappoint. I am the 3rd owner since new, bought the car with 113k on it, and it’s just getting ready to hit 118K after using it to commute on the highway the last few months. Car is stock except for the Kleemann camshafts that were installed by the previous owner, a Mercedes dealership tech here in AZ. The car is stored in an air-conditioned garage when not in use. It’s been an AZ and NM car its entire life, so no rust, rot or decay.

CLEAN title. 2 keys.

Overall, in fantastic condition. No codes or operational concerns. Would have zero hesitation about driving it cross country if need be. This car has performed flawlessly every day for my 80-mile R/T highway commutes during weeks of 100-118 degree weather, with AC ice cold the entire time. Many new engine maintenance items since purchase installed at my race shop, which are detailed in the You Tube walkaround video. Video made at 115k miles, and as mentioned above, car has just under 118k now.

NOTE: Unless noted otherwise below, items referenced as being replaced in You Tube video were done at 113K miles when I purchased the car

If you can’t watch the video, here are some highlights:

ENGINE:

The following items (have receipts) were installed in my race shop at 113K miles when I purchased the car:

· New Coolant and heater hoses
· Fresh Zerex coolant with Redline Water Wetter.
· New valve cover gaskets and all breather hoses
· New Merecedes spark plugs
· New serpentine belt
· New thermostat and coolant sensor
· New Oil filter housing/Oil cooler housing seals
· New timing cover gasket
· Mobil 1 oil/Hengst filter
· New oil filler cap
· New K&N air filters
· New air intake hose
· New windshield cowl under wiper assembly, with sealing to prevent water intrusion below
· Custom METAL coolant pipe where it meets with the windshield washer tank heating line at the false firewall below the cowl. The plastic factory one is notorious for failing and spraying coolant everywhere. Metal one eliminates the issue. WW tank heater line is bypassed as I don’t need it in AZ, but I have a new factory part and the hoses are there in case you wanted to reconnect it.

As a result, the engine compartment is dry, no leaks and engine runs strong (See video). No smoke at start up, and it idles perfect with no codes. There is a small amount of weeping around rear main seal/transmission area, but hasn’t been significant enough for me to worry about it. If you know M113 engines, this is pretty common. I have included photos of the valve train and inside of the valve cover at 113k. As you can see, it is very clean inside the engine, which speaks to maintenance prior to my buying it. Also included some pics of some of the many parts installed at 113k for max reliability.

INTERIOR:

Overall, I would rate the interior as 9.5. No rips, tears, gouges, headliner issues, and everything works though the single CD slot on stereo can be temperamental sometimes. HK audio system works fine. Since I stream music, I removed the functioning 6-disc CD changer and replaced it with a Mr. 12 VOLT Bluetooth adapter, but I still have the original CD changer if you wanted to reinstall it. In addition to a FULL set of quilted AMG floor mats, I installed Weathertech floor mats up front for day-to-day use. The leather seats are in excellent condition as is the rear tray, door panels and center console. There is some minor scuffing on the radio display face, a hairline crack above one of the plastic vent inserts, and the driver door aluminum insert has some minor divots (most likely from a ring or watch previous owner wore). Window tint could use a refresh, but it’s not torn or gouged. Have all Mercedes manuals, roadside kit, first aid kit, fuse panel guide, etc.. The walk around video details all of this.

EXTERIOR:

Paint is in fantastic shape, especially for it’s age. I regularly get compliments on its condition. No dents, gouges, rust and body is very clean overall. There are a few very minor scratches in a few spots that you have to look to find, and there is a small spot on the rear left passenger door handle that has delaminated. Left front fender has a small spot (2″?) under the paint with some distortion, but paint itself shines perfect and has no issues as photos and video show. You can only see it at certain angles in certain lighting, but feel it worth mentioning. There is a small spot on lower edge of chrome grill that has some wrinkling though chrome finish is fine. Being AZ, there are some rock chips on the front edge of the hood, and on the windshield, but other than that, it’s in great shape as the photos and video show.

WHEELS/TIRES/SUSPENSION:

As mentioned below, NEW Laufen tires up front with about 100 miles on them, which were bought for commuting. Rear Continental tires were installed by previous owner just before I purchased it, and have about 5k on them.

Wheels have been refreshed with ZERO curb rash or damage.

Suspension works fine, so didn’t feel the need to go through it. I will make sure it has a fresh front alignment for the new buyer.

Some recent adds since You Tube walkaround video was made:

· NEW front tires with less than 100 miles on them. (rears have 5K on them and plenty of tread)
· Fresh Mobil One oil change with Hengst filter and Liqi Moly Additive.
· Fresh buff and polish
Replacement left mirror LED signal lamp

Again, the video is comprehensive, so please message me with additional questions. It’s been a great car, but as I mentioned, other vehicle projects await. Asking $15,500. Thanks.
